Most calculator websites look like they haven't been redesigned since 2009 — dense pages, sidebars stacked with ads, and a result buried somewhere in the middle. CalculatorBoss exists because the actual job — type a number in, get an honest number back — doesn't need any of that.
Every calculator here runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, logged, or used to identify you. We make money from display advertising (you'll see ads around the content, never inside the calculator itself), which is what keeps every tool free with no signup.
The formulas behind each tool are the same standard formulas banks, accountants and financial planners use — nothing proprietary or experimental. Where a calculation depends on local rules that vary by country or change year to year, we say so explicitly rather than guessing.
What's on the site
Calculators are grouped into four practical areas, and new ones get added as we find gaps worth filling:
- Finance & tax — mortgages, loans, compound interest, sales tax, and everyday budgeting, using the same formulas a bank or accountant would.
- Electronics — resistor color-code decoding (3, 4, 5, and 6-band), Ohm's law, and other quick reference tools for hobbyists and students.
- Health & fitness — BMI, calorie needs, body fat, and related metrics, built on the standard formulas used in clinical and fitness references.
- Math & everyday utilities — percentages, unit conversions, date math, and the small calculations that come up more often than you'd expect.
Why the numbers are trustworthy
- Standard formulas, not guesswork — the math behind each calculator comes from established references (textbooks, IRS/tax guidance, recognized medical formulas, engineering standards), not something invented in-house.
- Checked against known results — before a calculator goes live, its output is tested against worked examples and, where possible, cross-checked against other established calculators to confirm it lands on the same number.
- No dark patterns — results update as you type, there's no forced sign-up, no email wall, and no page reload standing between you and your answer.
